Botanical Built is a landscaping company based on the Sunshine Coast, specialising in professional garden maintenance and softscape landscaping.
We work closely with our clients to ensure your vision comes to life and the highest quality work is achieved. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and always go above and beyond for the best result.
We are passionate about the natural world and the healing benefits it bestows. There is growing evidence that demonstrates exposure to plants and green spaces are beneficial to mental and physical health. We take great pleasure in helping you create your at-home garden oasis.
Our approach to gardening is holistic. We consider regenerative practices, soil health, how we can use recycled materials and how we can create biodiverse gardens. With this being said, we love to create beautiful outdoor spaces of all kinds that are within our client’s budget, palette and how the garden will fit within your family’s individual lifestyle.

Chris Summerhays

Chris is our head horticulturist at Botanical Built with seven years of experience in the industry. He started his horticultural career working with plants in a 40-acre wholesale production nursery. This experience provided him with the knowledge of plant growth cycles, fertilising, pest and disease, pruning, plant identification and quality plant selection.
He is a qualified horticultural tradesman and excelled quickly through his training with a landscape and maintenance company on the Central Coast, NSW. He moved into a supervisor role within one year of his apprenticeship, where he maintained 30 high-end residential gardens whilst also training and managing staff.
Chris has a genuine passion for plants, soils and the natural world and truly enjoys creating and maintaining gardens. In his free time, he enjoys propagating plant species and growing a range of beneficial fungi species - he likes to call himself a budding mycologist. He loves getting off the grid and camping in the great outdoors and is a musician having played the drums for the last 16 years.
A true horticulturist and plant man at heart, Chris is always punctual, will go above and beyond for all jobs and genuinely enjoys getting to know our clients and working with them to create their visions.
